What's in the Box?

Setting Up

  1. Place the board in the centre and divide the wedges by colour.
  2. Each player or team chooses a circular token (“pie”) and places it in the centre of the board.
  3. Shuffle the question cards and place them in their holders within everyone’s reach.
  4. Youngest player (or team) goes first, then play proceeds clockwise.

Objective

The aim is to be the first player or team to collect all six different coloured wedges by answering questions correctly in each category, then return to the centre and answer one final question to win.

How to Play

  1. On your turn, roll the die and move your token the number of spaces in any direction.
  2. Wherever you land, another player draws a card and reads you the question from the category matching that space’s colour.
  3. If you answer correctly:
    • If you’re on a “category headquarters” (the large space with a wedge symbol), collect a wedge of that colour and place it in your token.
    • You may roll again and take another turn.
  4. If you answer incorrectly, your turn ends and play passes to the next player.
  5. Continue moving around the board, aiming for spaces to collect wedges you’re missing.
Tip: You can move in any direction on your turn—including backwards or changing direction at intersections!

Winning the Game

  1. Once you have all six wedges, head back to the centre space (“hub”).
  2. On your turn in the centre, another player picks a question from the category of their choosing.
  3. Answer correctly to win the game! If you miss, stay in the centre and try again on your next turn.
Fun Fact: The original Trivial Pursuit was invented in Canada in 1979 and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide!
